Hoisin Sauce

Hoisin Sauce (海鮮醬) is a dark, thick sauce that is sweet and salty in flavor. It is used for glazes, stir frying, and dipping sauces. Hoisin sauce is typically made with soybeans, red chilis, garlic, vinegar, and sugar. Despite the fact that “Hoisin sauce” translates to “seafood sauce” in Chinese, this sauce is not made from seafood.
